Advantages of appliance protective film

/

1) Appliance protective film adhesive types include pressure-sensitive adhesives, adhesive films, solvent-based rubber adhesives, solvent-based acrylic adhesives, water-based acrylic adhesives, and silicone adhesives. Acrylic resin adhesives, which are commonly used in these products, offer adjustable adhesion, excellent transparency, and weather resistance.

2)Self-adhesive films for appliance protection are typically produced through a full extrusion process. The adhesive layer is mainly made from EVA, ultra-low-density polyethylene, or polyolefin plastic resins. This structure has gradually become the market standard due to its advantages, such as leaving no adhesive residue, providing stable and lasting performance, reducing user costs, and enabling high-profit margins for protective film manufacturers.

Appliance protective films made from polypropylene were among the first to appear on the market. This material is essentially the same as the plastic bag material we commonly use, with the chemical name polypropylene, which has no adhesion properties. It is usually adhered with glue. When removed, it can leave adhesive marks on the screen and cause long-term screen corrosion.

PVC appliance protective films are soft, easy to apply, but tend to be thicker, with poorer transparency, giving the screen a blurry appearance. When removed, they can leave adhesive residue on the screen.

Additionally, this material is prone to yellowing and oiling due to temperature fluctuations, and its lifespan is relatively short. Consequently, PVC appliance protective films are rarely seen in the market today. Currently, what is available is an improved version of the PVC protective film, which addresses the issues of thickness and poor light transmission, but still does not resolve the yellowing and greasy problems. Furthermore, PVC lacks scratch resistance, and over time, noticeable scratches appear on the protective film, affecting the screen's display and the overall aesthetics of the device. It is also important to note that PVC contains heavy metals and is toxic, which has led to its complete ban in Europe.

PET appliance protective films are among the most common protective films available on the market today. PET, also known as polyethylene terephthalate, is the material used for plastic bottles, such as soda bottles (also called "PET bottles").

PET appliance protective films are hard, scratch-resistant, and unlike PVC, they do not yellow or become greasy over time. However, PET films usually rely on static adhesion, which can cause bubbling or peeling. Even if the film peels off, it can be washed with water and reused. AR material appliance protective films are considered some of the best screen protectors available on the market.

AR is a synthetic material typically composed of three layers: a silicone adhesive layer, a PET middle layer, and a specially treated outer layer. The outer treatment layer is generally either AG (anti-glare) or HC (hardness) treatment. The AG treatment is used for matte protective films, while HC treatment is used for high-clarity protective films. The characteristics of these screen protective films include no reflection on the screen, high transparency (over 95%), and a soft surface with strong abrasion and scratch resistance. These films will not scratch after long-term use. The adhesive is made from chemical silicone, which attaches to the screen without causing damage, and it leaves no residue when removed. The film can also be washed and reused. These films are easily available in the market, though they are more expensive than PET materials.
